Calbayog City National High School, founded in 2002, is a public secondary school in Calbayog, Samar. Calbayog City National High School is a model academic institution known as the "Home of the Champions" because it soars high in the national division and even in the international competition. CCNHS is also a level 3 for SBM(School-Based Management) under the leadership of its school principal, Dr. Calick D. Arieta.

Calbayog City National High School is also one of the legendary schools found in Samar due to its accomplishments and achievements with its gifted students and profoundly best teachers. A technical epicenter that fosters the holistic development of morally and socially conscious students who are aware of the needs of their community. The school is being handled by Dr. Calick D. Arrieta, the City High's hallmark of excellence which leaves a stigma of success as a Father of the Champions.

Students interested in continuing their education beyond high school can choose from the institution's variety of K-12 academic tracks. Given the preceding, strands in ABM, HUMSS, STEM, and GAS are generally available and will likely meet the diverse requirements of Calbayog students pursuing a variety of different college degrees.

STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) is a curriculum concept based on educating students in four diverse subjects - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — through an interdisciplinary and practical approach. STEM blends the four disciplines into a coherent learning paradigm centered on real-world applications rather than teaching them separately.
The ABM Strand is designed for anyone interested in pursuing business-related courses at college or working in business, entrepreneurship, or other relevant sectors. The Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand would focus on the core concepts of financial management, business management, corporate operations, and accounting in general.
The term GAS stands for General Academic Strand. Senior high school students are exposed to various courses through the GAS, which enables them to make more educated career choices. GAS takes a more holistic approach to education than focusing exclusively on one or two disciplines, allowing students to consider their options. Students will work on topics spanning all strands (HUMSS, STEM, and ABM).
The abbreviation HUMSS stands for Humanities and Social Sciences. It is one of the options available to students in Senior High. This strand is for students interested in pursuing a college degree in journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, teaching, or a similar social science discipline. The HUMSS strand focuses on strengthening a student's reading, writing, and speaking skills since, as you may have noticed, students who choose this strand aspire to become members of society who will be dealing with a large number of people.
